      the one that got away

everyone has that person they wished so hard to keep, but life works mysteriously. you know that one person you just knew could’ve been the one. that person who seemed so perfect for you and the one you’ll never ever forget no matter how long it has been or how much you’ve change they’ll always be in your thoughts. YOUR ONE GREAT WHAT IF

i saw Katy Perry’s new video “the one that got away” and man it just pierced straight through my heart. i felt like it was a song written about me. HAHA FML. it is a scary thought i try hard not to think about… i dont want to think that i’ve missed my shot at one great love because i still wanna believe that the person meant for me is still out there. yeah he was really something i mean he made me want to be a better person, and maybe he was just there to make me be more of the person i want to be to help me find the person i will be spending the rest of my life with.

i dont want to grow old and still regret losing someone because God took him away from me. I WANT TO GROW OLD THANKING HIM BECAUSE HE HELPED ME FIND WHAT IT IS I WAS LOOKING FOR.

so no matter how much it hurts to watch that video, i wanna believe that there is no way i will end up like her. old and unhappy because she lingered with the one that got away.

Review: Geo Bambi Sesame Gray + Geo Mimi Cafe Macchiato

        image

Finally got my hands on two of Tsubasa Masuwaka’s designs - Bambi Sesame Gray and Chocolate. I’m saving the latter for the future since I have so many circle lenses opened at the moment! Apparently, these are the most popular designs in Japan right now, and you can see them all over Japanese magazines such as as Popteen and Popsister. These are 15mm, perfect for people who really want their eyes to look bigger. IMHO, Geo makes the best lenses and this pair isn’t an exception in terms of comfort and design. They take a bit of getting used to if you haven’t tried 15.00mm lenses yet, but after a while you won’t feel anything anymore because they’re so comfortable.

        image

The yellowish ring inside gives a lot of depth to these lenses, since there are a lot duller designs out there that only make you look like you have dead fish eyes!

It’s super cute how Mimi Cafe lenses are named after coffee! The designs are most probably made to resemble how your coffee cup looks from above. These ones that I’m wearing are 15.00mm Macchiato ones with a cute swirly design. Here’s a better photo:

These would make great everyday lenses! You can wear them with or without make-up and they would never look off.

Thanks a lot to Cherry Pacheco for the wonderful make-up and to Japanese Candy for always sponsoring my lenses. You can check out their website for more details. If you missed some of my old reviews (here to provide good pictures, more than anything else), you can find them here.

          TeaTap Cafe: Not just another

This is my very first attempt at a food blog. Just because I have eaten at many wonderful places and I feel the need to begin to share.

These photos were taken with my cellphone camera which is pathetic.

If you like Kozui Green Tea on Tomas Morato, you’ll probably love their promising new milk tea joint in Greenhills called TeaTap Cafe, conveniently located in Greenhills, which I hereby declare milk tea capital of the metro.

The first thing that greets you when you walk in the door is a patch of grass and this cute little thing.

          image

And then there’s another one on the counter, a welcome distraction that leaves you torn between laughing and trying to put it in your bag while the cashier lady isn’t looking. I’m not a fan of real cats but these I could not resist.

This is Formosa Black Tea with Perilla and Paris Rose Milk Tea. Formosa was not a letdown, and was just genuinely good black tea. The perilla didn’t appeal to me. It didn’t really taste like anything, looked really creepy, and felt weird. Paris Rose very shockingly tasted like roses and took a little getting used to, but if you genuinely like the taste of flowers, this drink is sure to become a favorite. The pearls were chewy and awesome.

Perhaps the biggest success of the place is its decor. There’s some charming, colorful artwork all over the place that adds personality and are just fun to look at while you’re waiting for your order or if you’re having a boring conversation with whoever you’re with.

This is always a good staple mantra to have around.

Tin cans of their tea leaves were also on display on shelves and smelled wonderful. (You can tell I smelled one because that one on top is slightly open.)

          image

You can also take some of their stuff home! There’s a shelf filled with random items that you can purchase or just look through. They’re mostly notepads and notebooks, tiny totes and cases.

TeaTap’s newly opened and is still on it’s trial run. They’re also set to start selling frozen yogurt and snack food soon, which, paired with its convenient location near the residential areas of San Juan and its charming interiors, is sure to make it a massive success very soon.

Honestly, I don’t have time to hate people that hate me, 'cause I’m too busy loving people that love me.

Outside in the courtyard of Bada Imambara, Lucknow, India, there is a man who sits under an umbrella and sells tiny versions of shoes worn by the Nawab and Begum.

Today’s shoot adventure: Baked in the sun today as I checked out this project along EDSA.

This is Sir Bogie (Jose Tence Ruiz), whose work ‘Ganap’ is currently being translated into a 1,000 square meter mural along EDSA (near the Magallanes MRT station, south-bound side). And they’re using air-cleaning paint! YES, REALLY.

I filmed him and his 7 Boysen co-workers earlier - and as much as it was sweltering hot - inspiration and amazement rained down on me like it was June. (Thank you Sir Bogie for being so nice and accommodating, and for the Mister Siomai sago’t gulaman treat!)

I’ll be doing a feature video on them on my blog soon. It was all too brilliant not to document! And there will be 7 more of these incredible murals along the whole stretch of EDSA, in an effort to create air filters built in along the walls of the biggest thoroughfare in our city. YAY FOR MORE PUBLIC ART IN MANILA!
